Dr. Yu-Jin Chang
Veterinarian
Dr. Chang was born in Texas, and spent much of her childhood in South Korea before moving to Suwanee, Georgia during her high school years. Growing up in a home filled with animals, she always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, though it wasn’t until her junior year at the University of Georgia that she decided to fully pursue that path. Dr. Chang graduated from the University of Georgia in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a minor in Music.
In 2026, she became a proud “Double Dawg” after earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she joined Abbott Animal Hospital and is excited to begin serving pets and their families as part of the Abbott team. She was drawn to Abbott’s family-oriented atmosphere and its commitment to treating every patient and client like family.
What Dr. Chang enjoys most about veterinary medicine is building lasting relationships with clients while helping their pets live long, healthy, and comfortable lives. She is also passionate about improving access to veterinary care and supporting underserved communities. Having lived in both the United States and South Korea, Dr. Chang is fluent in Korean and enjoys connecting with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Her interests include surgery, preventive medicine, wellness care, and strengthening the human-animal bond. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Chang enjoys traveling, attending music concerts and festivals, and spending time with her soul dog, Deborah, who continually reminds her why she chose this profession.
